CCIE RnS v5 Around us!
« on: November 01, 2013, 11:28:32 PM »
Incase you have not heard the current CCIE Routing and Switching is evolving from Version 4 to 5. What are the implication?

1. Lab modality and format will change
2. Lab will no longer be hardware tie base.
3. Expert new topics while some old topic will be moved.
4. V5 lab will be IOU base.

Further implication of number 4 is that Cisco will have lots of physical and logical topology to serve candidate hence you will need to master the technology to pass rather than craming or "dumping" the technology.

I feel is a way to Cisco want to bring value to the all time respected exam which is quite a welcoming thing for future CCIE aspirant.

I wonder if the virtual lab (router, switch etc.) will be made available to public  :)

I think over time it will be available but with some price though. Even then as it is now IOU now litters the web. So even if cisco did not release an official version there will be a way around it.

I look forward really to the blueprints as it will be quite interesting..
