Title: UDI for Cisco Prime 3.1
Post by: aniketalashe on May 04, 2017, 10:24:31 PM
Hi All,

I have a Cisco Prime 3.1 setup running as a virtual appliance on evaluation license.

I need to generate licenses for the same. I have the output from "show udi" command in hand, but have doubt as to what exactly constitutes the UDI for license generation.

"show udi" command output -
SPID: Cisco-VM-SPID
VPID: V01
Serial: JXXXXXXXXXX

Need help to figure out the UDI from the above information.

Rgds,
Aniket

Hi Aniket,
As far as I can see, you have two option.
1. Recommended. Convert to Smart License and have Prime register to Smart Account. This way you will never have to deal manual license install in the future.
2. Assuming you have the Prime No-Node lock, I believe it does not matter what you enter for UDI. Try just using the Prime hostname so that way you know at least which server the license ties to.

Good Luck
