L2TPv3 and QinQ
« on: February 04, 2014, 02:58:22 AM »
Hi,

I'm looking at extending a metro switch over the internet to extend qinq and other Ethernet features. The ISR G2's support L2TPv3 so I'd be looking at one either end of the pseudowire with the switch sat behind it. Has anybody done something like this before so can confirm it's feasible and maybe seen any issues and if so have any config examples?

Many Thanks

Hi, If you do a search on the feature navigator for QinQ over L2TPv3, the only platform that shows up is the 12000. However, the document below says that smaller routers like 7200 supports QinQ as L2TPv3 payload as well. From this, we know it is possible but the question is whether or not the ISR G2 supports it. There is a chance that they only do basic L2TPv3 but not QinQ. You might want to try to lab this out or contact Cisco pre-sales support to confirm.

Ok that's great thanks, I'll double check with pre-sales maybe it's possible with the new 4451-X
